Terms and Conditions

By placing a booking with Family Parties you will be confirming you have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.

The Hirer

  • The Hirer is the person named on the booking.

  • The Hirer must be aged 18 or above.

If the hirer is in any doubt as to the meaning of the following, a representative from Family Parties should immediately be consulted.

Hire Fees

  • Our minimum hire fee does not include overnight fees, multi-day bookings or delivery charges.

  • All prices shown on product pages relate to a single day's booking.

  • Overnight fees are charged at 50% of the day rate with items being collected the following morning.

  • Multi-day bookings are charged at the day rate shown on the product page, multiplied by the number of days required.

  • Multi-day bookings do not carry an overnight fee.

Payment

  • Bookings made with more than 14 days until the party date... the booking fee, or the full balance, is payable within 24 hours of placing your booking in order to secure the booking.

  • Bookings made with 14 days or less, until the party date, are required to make payment in full within 24 hours.

  • Booking fees are non-refundable.

  • Full payments include the booking fee.

  • All outstanding balances must be made in full, no later than 14 days before your event.

  • Family Parties reserves the right to cancel any booking where the booking fee or full balance is not paid within 24 hours of the booking being placed.

  • Bookings carrying an outstanding balance with 7 days or less until the party date, will automatically be cancelled and items released so other customers may book them. Any payments previously recieved will not be refunded. This excludes bookings made with less than 14 days until the party date, where payment in full is required within 24 hours of placing the booking in order to secure the booking.

Delivery and Collection

  • Delivery and collection times are approximate. Family Parties will always endeavour to arrive on or by the times shown on the booking. We will attempt to call you should we be running more than 10 minutes late for either delivery or collection.

  • Family Parties cannot be held liable for any additional costs incurred by the hirer should we arrive at times differing those shown on the booking.

  • The hirer must ensure all hire items are available for collection, by the agreed collection time.

  • Any delay to collection caused by the hirer or their guests will be charged at £35 per hour, or part hour.

  • The hirer must not allow any items to be partially or fully packed away by anyone other than a Family Parties team member. All hired items need to be inspected by a Family Parties team member on arrival, before packing away can commence.

  • The latest collection time all year round will be 9pm for indoor bookings, or one hour before sunset for outdoor bookings.

Required Space

It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure there is:

  • safe, sufficient and suitable access for Family Parties to enter and leave the area where hired items are to be situated.

  • safe, sufficient and suitable space for hired items to be set up. I.e. clean, flat and level, and free of anything that could cause harm or damage to our hire items, or harm to any person.

We are unable to provide our items to public land, communal land, or areas such as gardens shared by flats. We are also unable to provide items to council-owned land or privately owned land etc, without the express written consent of the landowner on headed paper displaying their full contact details. The written consent must be provided to Family Parties no later than 14 days in advance of your event date.

Installation

  • Family Parties require the hirer to be present for the delivery of all hired items so they can inspect the cleanliness, condition and repair of the items supplied, and to receive any necessary instructions and/or safety briefing.

  • Family Parties requires the hirer to show three forms of ID before the installation of hired items can commence.

    • ID 1: Must be a photographic ID displaying an up-to-date photograph of the hirer, along with their first and last names. A valid driver's licence or passport are both appropriate.

    • ID 2: Must be a valid and in date bank or credit card displaying the first and last names of the hirer.

    • ID 3: Must be a recent utility bill showing the first and last name of the hirer, along with the hirers address used to place the booking.

  • Hired items will not be installed until full payment has been made in full.

  • The hirer can nominate a person to take delivery of hired items on their behalf, by providing an email, sent from the email address shown on the booking, naming the nominated person. The nominated person will be required to show three forms of ID, in their name, mentioned above. The responsibility of the booking will remain with the hirer.

During the Hire Period

The hire period will end once Family Parties have inspected, cleaned, packed, and removed all items from your property or venue, regardless of the time shown on the booking.

The hirer will:

  • be responsible for the supervision of the hired items, its care, and safety from damage no matter how slight.

  • be responsible for the behaviour of all persons, of all ages, using the hired items, no matter their capacity, including the proper supervision of children and adults, and to ensure all equipment is used only by age and size appropriate persons.

  • not use the equipment, or allow the equipment to be used, for any purpose other than its intended purpose.

  • not sub-hire hired items without prior written consent of Family Parties.

  • not use, or allow, the hired items to be used, for any unlawful purpose or in any unlawful way.

  • ensure electrical items are only powered on or off by a responsible and capable adult over the age of 18, with the express consent of the hirer, or a Family Parties team member.

Inflatables specifically:

The hirer will ensure:

  • all age limits, height limits and weight limits are adhered to.
  • overcrowding does not occur.
  • there is no pushing, shoving, fighting, aggressive behaviour, somersaults, climbing or sitting on the walls / roof of the slide, or any other behaviour that could cause harm or injury to the hired items, its users, or spectators.
  • that the safety crash mats are in the correct position around the entrances and exits of the inflatable, at all times.
  • that no user goes around the back of the inflatable, behind any safety barriers, near any blowers, or interferes with any power supply.
  • that the blowers remain turned on at all times the inflatable is in use.
  • that air vents on inflatable blowers do not become obstructed by leaves, bags, balloons, or any other items.
  • that blowers remain in an upright and unobstructed position at all times.
  • that in the event of a power failure, or being advised to turn the inflatable blower(s) off by a Family Parties team member, all persons must be removed from the inflatable immediately. No one is permitted to go on to or into, an inflatable when it is not fully inflated.

Public Liability Insurance

  • Family Parties will provide evidence of our public liability insurance, on request. This request must be made in advance of the event date.

Accidents / Injury / Loss

  • Family Parties will accept no liability for any accident, injury, or death, howsoever caused, in the absence of negligence by Family Parties.

  • As hired items will be in the possession and control of the hirer, any liability for accidents, injuries, or other losses, rests with the hirer. It is strongly recommended that the hirer has adequate public liability insurance covering their liability arising from the use of items hired from Family Parties.

Medical Conditions

  • Family Parties accept no liability for any pre-existing medical condition being made worse through the use of items hired from Family Parties.

  • Family Parties recommends any person who feels generally unwell, has a heart condition, is pregnant, is on any medication, or has any physical impairment that could be made worse by using Family Parties hired items, should consult their doctor or consultant and gain their written approval before using any of Family Parties items.

Supervision

  • The hirer is responsible for ensuring the supervision and use of Family Parties hired items is carried out by a capable adult aged 18 years or above.

Damage to Family Parties Property

  • The hirer will be billed accordingly for any damage or loss of Family Parties hired items.

  • Family Parties do not allow Face Paints, Glitter Tattoos, Henna Tattoos, Silly String, Party Poppers, Confetti, Felt Tips, Pens, or any other items that may cause any marking or permanent staining, on or near our Inflatables, Soft Play items or Bean Bags.

  • Family Parties do not allow food, drink, shoes, pets, earrings, badges, other sharp objects, cigarettes, or any other items that may cause damage, on or near our Inflatables, Soft Play items or Bean Bags.

  • All hired items must be returned in the same clean condition in which they were hired. If items are returned in an unclean condition, the hirer will be charged for cleaning at a rate of £35 per hour, or part of.

  • All damages will be billed at the full cost of the repair, or replacement where a repair is not economical, plus any associated costs including, but not limited to, courier services and loss of business while the items remain unavailable for hire.

Damage to Your Property

Family Parties cannot be held responsible for damage to your property or venue where these terms and conditions have not been adhered to.

Reserved Rights

Family Parties reserve the right to cancel your booking in advance, or at the time of delivery if:

  • payment is outstanding with less than 14 days until the party/event date.

  • safe, sufficient and suitable access is not provided.

  • height barriers or gates providing access to the venue carpark are locked.

  • safe, sufficient and suitable space for the hired items to be set up is not provided.

  • the land or area provided is communal, council-owned, or privately owned, and written consent of the landowner, on headed paper, displaying their contact details has not provided to us at least 14 days in advance of your event date.

  • we reasonably believe hired items are at risk of damage or theft.

Refunds will not be made in the above mention circumstances.

Cancellation

By placing a booking with Family Parties you are confirming you have read and agree to the Terms and Conditions laid out above, and our Cancellation and Refund Policy.
